Uzbekistan will start printing money using a new technology, which was developed for the first time in the world. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has issued a patent for an invention for the production of security paper with the addition of natural silk fibers, the report said.
This method was developed jointly with specialists from the Davlat Belgisi enterprise, the Uzbekipaksanoat association and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.
The technology for making paper with the addition of natural silk fibers, which has enhanced protective properties for banknotes, securities and other documents, was developed in Uzbekistan for the first time in the world, the report says.
During the manufacturing process, natural silk fibers are added to the paper pulp, and then it is impregnated with a fluorescent solution.
When illuminated with ultraviolet rays, the silk protein acquires an enhanced dark color, thereby protecting the paper from fakes. As a result of adding natural silk of the same thickness to the composition of the paper, its strength increases several times.
Earlier, Uzbeks were told what to do with counterfeit banknotes. It turned out from what cases the banknote will be changed to a new one.
