The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan amounted to $263.4 million in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 1.8% compared to a year earlier, according to the Agency on Statistics under the President of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan imported products worth $218.4 million from Turkmenistan and exported products worth $45.1 million.
Turkmenistan ranks seventh among Uzbekistan's trading partners from January to March 2023. China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Germany and South Korea top the list.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has switched to direct purchases of electricity and natural gas from Turkmenistan. Last year, mutual trade between neighboring countries amounted to $926.3 million.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is not among the top ten countries in the world where goods are exported from Uzbekistan.
The Agency on Statistics of Uzbekistan named the top ten countries where Uzbekistan most often sells goods in 2023.
According to the information, Russia occupies the first line by a large margin. The indicator between the countries amounted to $736.2 million. In the context of other states, the statistics are as follows:

Afghanistan - $178.2 million;

The volume of export of goods to Turkmenistan amounted to around $40 million.
