Turkmenistan and Iran sign Program of Cooperation between Foreign Ministries

A bilateral inter-MFA cooperation program for 2023-2024 between Turkmenistan and Iran was signed in Tehran. The signing took place within the framework of the working visit of the head of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Iran, the official newspaper of Turkmenistan "Neutral Turkmenistan" reports.

The document was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the report said.

Earlier, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi signed a Joint Declaration, which reflects the strategic nature of relations between the two countries and the need for further development of partnership in areas of interest to both sides, the newspaper writes.

The publication reports that following the results of negotiations between Turkmenistan and Iran, 5 documents on cooperation in various fields were signed. Among them are a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of energy, a memorandum of cooperation in the fields of education and healthcare between medical universities, a program of cooperation in the field of customs service for 2023-2024 and other documents.

Gurbanguly Bedimukhamedov arrived on a working visit to Iran on May 30, 2023.
