It is held to enhance the image of Busan as a global city ahead of the 4th BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) competition presentation to be held in June, the AJA reports.

Earlier, in November last year, the organizers invited journalists from Asian countries and held a international forum. At that time, the journalists visited the North Port area, where the 2030 Busan Expo is supposed to be held, and reported the global city of Busan through their local media.

“The 2nd Overseas Journalists Forum to Host the 2030 Busan World Expo” includes MOU for “Foreigners Working and Working”, in which 6 organizations participate: Busan Metropolitan City, The Corps of Consuls in Busan, Busan Labor Rights Center, Busan Foundation for International Cooperation, The Kookje Daily News and AJA. Also, a handout ceremony for foreign workers' rights notebooks produced by Busan Labor Rights Center, and a presentation by AJA, Busan Labor Rights Center and Busan Foundation for International Cooperation is going to be held.

In the presentation session, Ashraf Dali, president of AJA, “Busan - The Future of a Cosmopolitan City”, Seok Byeong-soo, director of Busan Labor Rights Center, “Busan is safe for migrant workers,” and Joo Hyun-woo, director of Global Citizenship Cooperation Team of Busan Foundation for International Cooperation, “The future of global Busan and the role of the foundation” will be presented respectively. After the presentation, free discussion and Q&A will be followed.

Foreign correspondents residing in Korea from Russia, Indonesia and Vietnam will attend the forum to report Busan's global capabilities. AJA, the organizer, will also focus on covering the event in 10 Asian countries through overseas media networks.

Bae Jae-han, CEO of The Kookje Daily News, said, “By hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, it is a great opportunity to make a quantum jump in Korea beyond Busan. We planned this forum to spread the advantages of Busan abroad.”

Lee Sang-ki, founder president of AJA said, “Through this event, I hope to secure competitiveness for the 4th BIE presentation, and furthermore, to achieve the desired results in the voting for the venue selection in November 2023.”
