Tajikistan tops the list of countries whose citizens visited Uzbekistan in January-February 2023. Of the total number of tourists who came to Uzbekistan during these two months, 289 000 people are citizens of Tajikistan.
In January-February 2023, 871,000 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, the Agency for Statistics of Uzbekistan reports. This indicator increased by 544.400 people or 2.7 times compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The list in terms of the number of tourists who came to Uzbekistan is headed by Tajikistan - 289.2 thousand people.
The top three include Kazakhstan - 241.4 thousand people and Kyrgyzstan - 211.200 people. 81.000 tourists came from Russia to Uzbekistan, 13.400 people from Turkey, 4.800 people from Turkmenistan.
The smallest number of tourists came to Uzbekistan from Israel and Georgia - 0.6 thousand people each.
