Kyrgyzstan will equalize the trade balance with the European Union and monitor goods prohibited from deliveries from the EU to Russia. This was stated by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov at the summit "Central Asia - European Union" in Cholpon-Ata.

Kyrgyzstan has firm intentions to develop the potential of trade and economic relations with the EU, said the President of Kyrgyzstan, speaking at the summit.

Zhaparov believes that the GSP+ program is one of the effective mechanisms for its strengthening and development. Therefore, Kyrgyzstan needs experience to meet the high standards for EU products.

“Regarding trade cooperation with the European Union, I would like to note that over the past year, the trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with the EU countries increased by 76.1% and amounted to $603.1 million, including exports increased by 60.6%, totaling $75.8 million, and imports by 78.6%, which is $527.3 million. In the short term, we strive not only to work on increasing trade, but also on equalizing the trade balance,” Zhaparov said.

He also expressed understanding for the concerns and requests of European partners regarding a certain group of goods subject to sanctions. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan is ready to continue the dialogue with the EU on this issue.
