Kyrgyzstan has one of the lowest Internet costs — the country ranks second in terms of cheap Internet in the world, said international expert Eduard Turdaliev, speaking at the Digital Kyrgyztan international forum in Bishkek, Economist.kg reports.

On average, the price for the Internet ranges from $5 to $7 dollars, while in other countries the cost reaches $130. For example, in the US, the Internet costs $50, provided that Kyrgyzstan and the US purchase the same equipment.

“But 500 soms a month is sometimes expensive for us, even on the plane we are dissatisfied with the speed of Wi-fi, that's the kind of people we are,” Turdaliev said.

He also touched upon the development of tourism in Kyrgyzstan, adding that hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the country every year.

“The most visited area is Ala-Archa, but the connection is weak there. And at the peak of the Victory, our connection works - and this is a miracle! ”, The expert addressed the Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan Indira Sharshenova.

Sharshenova confirmed the quality and speed of the Internet and added that work will be carried out to improve the network in Kyrgyzstan.
