The public debt of Kyrgyzstan at the end of March 2023 rose to $5.62 billion, an increase of $24.25 million compared to the previous month, the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan said in a report, Akchabar reports.
The increase was driven by growth in both domestic and external debt, with the latter rising by $16.72 million.
The largest increase was in the obligations of Kyrgyzstan to the International Development Association (IDA) - $13.41 million, followed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) - $10.03 million and the International Monetary Fund - $5.77 million.
At the same time, there was a decrease in external debt, most of all to China by $24.5 million and the EUFR by $2.29 million.
We add that the growth of domestic debt is fully secured by an increase in borrowings from government treasury bonds.
