An agreement on the establishment of the Geographical Council of the Turkic States (GSTG), which will include the geographical communities of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, is signed in Tashkent, Sputnik reports.
The initiator of the creation of the Geographical Council was the Kazakh Republican public association "QazaqGeography".
The main goal of the initiative to create the GSTG is to further deepen comprehensive cooperation between Turkic-speaking research institutes and public associations, as well as to make a joint contribution to the study and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage (material and intangible) of the Turkic peoples.
During the event, it is planned to elect the Secretary General of the Council.
