Saida Mirziyoyeva spoke on behalf of Uzbekistan at the UN Conference on Water Resources held in the United States, Nova24.uz reports.

The Conference discussed issues such as bringing the world together and the opportunity to accelerate progress towards universal access to safe drinking water and sanitation by 2030.

In her comment, Mirziyoeva noted that participation in this conference allowed Uzbekistan to share the problems and achievements in the field of water management.

Saida Mirziyoyeva read an elegy in the Karakalpak language. For the first time in history, this language was heard from the UN chair, the portal reports.

"In my speech, I noted the importance of culture and creativity in the fight against the ecological catastrophe of the Aral Sea. As part of my work in this direction, I presented the Aral Culture Summit project of the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art, which includes large-scale educational and cultural programs," said Mirziyoyeva

It is known that the water level in the Aral Sea has risen by almost half a meter. In two months of 2023, more water entered the sea than in all of 2022.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, 38, has been the head of the communications and information policy department of the Executive Office of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan since November 2022. She is the eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
