President of the Central Asian Football Association Rustami Emomali said at the CAFA Congress in Dushanbe that the countries of Central Asia will submit a joint application to host the final of the Asian Cup in 2031 or 2035, Avesta reports.
“Our Central Asian region has never hosted the final part of the Asian Cup. I think the time has come. Our region is represented by very strong teams. I am sure that together with the brotherly countries we will hold the final part of the Asian championship at the highest level. We have decided that we will submit a joint bid to host the Asian Cup in 2031 or 2035 in Central Asia,” said CAFA President Rustami Emomali.
The President of the Asian Football Confederation, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, in his speech at the CAFA Congress, supported the initiative of the President of CAFA Rustami Emomali to submit a joint application from the countries of Central Asia to host the final part of the Asian Cup and said that this region deserved to host the Asian championship among national teams, according to Football Futuration of Tajikistan.
The Central Asian Football Association includes four countries of the region - Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. Kazakhstan is a member of UEFA - the European Football Association.
In April 2023, the Kazakhstan national team in Astana sensationally defeated the Danish national team in the qualifying match for the European Championship 2024 with a score of 3-2.
