All presidential candidates are registered in Uzbekistan. This was announced at the next meeting of the CEC of Uzbekistan.
At a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, the names of all registered candidates for the presidential election were announced:
- Ulugbek Ilyasovich Inoyatov from the People's Democratic Party;
- Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev from the Liberal Democratic Party;
- Robakhon Anvarovna Makhmudova from the Social Democratic Party "Adolat";
- Abdushukur Khudoykulovich Khamzaevot from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.
The election campaign for the post of President of Uzbekistan will begin on June 7, the report said.
More than a hundred billion soums will be allocated for early presidential elections. The decision was made at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan.
Early presidential elections in Uzbekistan were scheduled for July 9 after the April 30, 2023 referendum, the majority of voters supported the new version of the country's Constitution.
The current president of Uzbekistan can now participate in elections twice, the previous terms of Mirziyoyev's presidency under the updated Constitution have been canceled.
The first time Mirziyoyev was elected President of Uzbekistan in 2017, the second time - in 2022.
