11 million foreign citizens entered Kyrgyzstan in 2022, Nurlanbek Zhalbiyev, head of the Main Border Control Department of the State Committee for National Security of the State Committee for National Security, said at a meeting of the Kyrgyz Parliament Committee on Social Policy, AKIpress reports.
In 2021, 5.4 million foreigners entered and left Kyrgyzstan, Zhalbiev said and noted that in September 2022 there was a large influx of Russians, but now they have already left Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Social Security of Kyrgyzstan, 820,000 Kyrgyzstanis are officially abroad. "However, according to the Kyrgyz embassy, there are more than 1 million Kyrgyzstanis in Russia," said Zhanyl Alybayeva, Deputy Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan.
At the moment, there are 10 thousand foreign students in Kyrgyzstan. "They all enter through visas," the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
"864 people live without citizenship in Kyrgyzstan. More than half are our former citizens," said Aidarbek Mambetkadyrov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the country.
